In the summer of 1983, at the time of the youth riots in Zurich, the city government of Vienna had the culture and Gassergasse youth centre (GAGA) evicted and immediately demolished. Thereafter, some groups from GAGA sought shelter and protection at WUK. The position towards the GAGA youth divided the WUK, resulting in an occupation, vandalism, social problems, and eventually in closing the open house by WUK members. The occupation ended in autumn.

The film of the WUK video group documents discussions between WUK and GAGA activists.
